안녕하세요, 드러머 박계완입니다. 1979년생으로, 현재 Asian Chairshot와 WANHEE 두 팀에서 활동 중입니다. 록, 팝, 일렉트로닉, 포크, 엠비언스 등 다양한 장르에서 음악을 만들어가며, 제 감정과 생각을 자유롭게 표현하는 것을 좋아합니다. 최근에는 포크와 얼터너티브 록 스타일의 새로운 밴드를 준비 중입니다. 새로운 팀을 만드는 과정은 언제나 흥미롭고 설레는 일입니다.
음악도 하고, 일상도 즐기고
음악 작업에서는 주로 Maschine MK3를 사용합니다. 특정 장르에 구애받지 않고 자유롭게 음악을 만들며, 드럼 연주와 함께 다양한 사운드를 실험하는 것을 즐깁니다. 음악의 경계를 넘어서는 게 제 큰 재미죠.
또한, AI 프로그램을 활용해 뮤직비디오나 다양한 영상을 만드는 것도 취미입니다. 새로운 도구를 실험하는 과정이 제 음악 작업에도 영감을 주는 재미있는 활동이에요.
그리고 시간이 날 때면 오토바이를 타고 시골길을 달리는 걸 정말 좋아합니다. 특히 소똥냄새를 좋아합니다.길 위에서 느끼는 자유와 풍경은 힐링이 되고, 종종 새로운 아이디어를 얻을 때도 있어요.
드럼 장비와 배우는 과정
저의 드럼 장비는 꽤 간단합니다. DW5000 싱글 페달과 스틱 한 자루뿐입니다. 오랫동안 ProMark 5A 스틱을 사용해왔지만, 최근 AliExpress에서 6,500원에 VicFirth 5A 스틱을 발견하고, 덕분에 대량 구매의 유혹을 참지 못했습니다. 지금은 완벽하게 적응해서 앞으로도 계속 이 스틱을 쓸 예정입니다. 가격 대비 성능? 매우 만족하고 있습니다.
드럼 학원에 다니기 시작했어요. 집에서 5분 거리라서 선택 기준은 오로지 '거리'였죠. 그런데 그게 정말 좋은 선택이었네요! 자이온드럼 김동현 선생님께 레슨을 받고 있는데, 선생님은 젊고 의욕 넘치는 분이라 에너지가 넘쳐요. 조금 늦게 시작했지만, 레슨을 받으면서 실력이 확실히 늘고 있다는 걸 느끼고 있어요. 제 실력이 발전하는 걸 보는 게 그 자체로 너무 즐겁네요.
그리고 집 근처에 있는 단골 카페 '주택커피'가 있어요. 여기 사장님도 동현쌤의 수제자라고 하더라고요. 정말 기막힌 우연이죠, 이 카페 커피가 꽤 맛있고, 와플은 정말 말로 표현할 수 없을 정도로 푸짐하게 생크림을 넣어줘요. 먹을 때마다 '이게 정말 끝이 있나?' 싶은 마음이 들 정도로 말이죠. 친절한 사장님이 항상 반갑게 맞아주셔서 기분 좋게 커피 한 잔 마시고 가는 곳이에요. 앞으로도 자주 가게 될 것 같아요!
이렇게 가까운 곳에서 드럼 레슨도 받고, 맛있는 커피와 와플도 즐기고, 우연히 인연도 느낄 수 있다는 게 참 좋네요. 세상 참 좁죠?

아내와 저는 서로의 창작 활동을 응원하며 함께 성장하고 있습니다. 아내는 요가 강사이자 싱어송라이터로 활동 중인데, 서로의 작업에 대해 이야기하고 협력하는 시간이 정말 소중합니다.
우리 가족의 사랑스러운 멤버, 강아지 울프도 소개하고 싶어요. 하얀 진도와 스피츠 믹스견인 울프는 우리 일상에 큰 웃음과 행복을 더해주는 소중한 친구입니다.

Hi, I’m Kye-wan Park, a drummer born in 1979. Currently, I’m active in two bands: Asian Chairshot and WANHEE. I love exploring various genres—rock, pop, electronic, folk, ambient—and freely expressing my emotions and ideas through music. Recently, I’ve been preparing a new band with a folk and alternative rock vibe. Building a new team is always an exciting and inspiring journey.
Balancing Music and Everyday Life
When it comes to music production, I primarily use the Maschine MK3. I enjoy creating music without being tied to a specific genre, experimenting with diverse sounds alongside my drumming. Pushing boundaries in music is where I find the most joy.
I also love using AI programs to create music videos and various visual projects. Experimenting with new tools brings fresh inspiration to my music-making process, making it a fun and creative experience.
In my downtime, I enjoy riding my motorcycle along country roads. Oddly enough, I even like the smell of cow dung—it feels grounding. The freedom and scenery I experience on the road are incredibly healing and often spark new ideas.
My Drum Gear and Learning Journey
My drum setup is pretty simple: just a DW5000 single pedal and a pair of sticks. I’ve been loyal to ProMark 5A sticks for years, but recently, I found VicFirth 5A sticks on AliExpress for 6,500 KRW each and couldn’t resist stocking up. They’ve been great so far, and I plan to stick with them—excellent quality for the price!
I recently started drum lessons at an academy just five minutes from my house. The short distance was the deciding factor, but it turned out to be an excellent choice! I’m learning from Dong-hyun Kim at Zion Drum, a young and passionate teacher bursting with energy. Although I started a bit late, I can see clear progress, and it’s incredibly rewarding to witness my own improvement.
I also frequent a nearby café called Jutaek Coffee. Interestingly, the owner is also a former student of Dong-hyun. Their coffee is fantastic, and the waffles? Overflowing with whipped cream—it feels endless! The friendly owner always greets me warmly, making it a great spot to relax with a cup of coffee. I’ll definitely keep coming back.
It’s amazing how everything—drum lessons, great coffee, and even chance encounters—feels connected. The world truly is small!
Family and Wolf
My wife and I support each other’s creative journeys and grow together. She’s a yoga instructor and singer-songwriter, and the time we spend sharing and collaborating on our projects is incredibly valuable.
I’d also love to introduce Wolf, our beloved dog. He’s a white Jindo-Spitz mix who fills our days with laughter and happiness—a cherished member of our family.
